I have a large audio file in my media library folder on my server, but can’t get the wordpress media library to recognize or display it. I’ve installed 2.8.6 through fantastico and cpanel, and my hosting is through Lithium Hosting (who I quite like).

Many forum posts recommend editing the php.ini file, or the .htaccess file to increase file size, and page size limits. Unfortunately nowhere in my wordpress installation on the server can I find php.ini, and .htaccess doesn’t contain the code it is suggested that I revise. Just to be clear, all the advice found here didn’t work.

It’s possible I have a hosting issue, but I believe it’s a wordpress issue, as ftping the file into the proper folder was no problem.

    Thanks for the help!

It’s a hosting issue. http transfers are handled differently to ftp transfers. Your php.ini file should be somewhere on your server but it won’t be in the WordPress folder. Consult your hosts for it’s exact location.
