How do I set unpaid listing to not be displayed? I've gone through the settings, but haven't found a switch that would allow me to do that.

    Hi Mike,

So I need to understand your setup a bit more first.

Paid and unpaid listings are a function of either your general payment settings under Directory Admin->Manage Options, Payment tab (to turn payments on or off) and your fee plans (if you create a fee plan of 0.00, that's a free one)

What is your setting for Payment?

What are your fee plans, if any?

What is the goal you want to enforce here?

Thanks for the reply. We are a Chamber of Commerce, and not all members renew every year. Our goal is to list only the members that have renewed their membership (marked as paid), without them having actually made a payment through the payment gateway. That way we have their listing on record, and if the renew the following year, we will list them again.

Here are the settings I have:
    - Payments are not turned on (as I don't plan on taking payments over the website just yet)
    - We charge $55 for membership (i.e. to list their business, etc.) I have made no entry to this effect in WPBD, as I wasn't sure where, or if it's necessary, as I don't want emails to go out, or payments to be collected online (for now).

    Thanks!

OK--so I think what you want is this:

    - Set your free listing expiration date to be 1 year (365 days)
    - Keep payments off
    - Turn off the Renewal emails

At the one year mark, you'll need to manually notify the listings that you want them to upgrade (maybe this is done through your membership plugin??)

But this should be fine. If you are in control of the listings (only you can post them, but you can assign them to others once they are posted), I believe this solves all your use cases above.

However, getting back to your original issue, the PAID/NOT PAID distinction doesn't have any effect on display, so you'll have to handle this through expirations only.

Thank you! :) This helps clarify the functionality for me. :) I guess the other option is to put them in draft status for complete manual operation. I guess I could also override the post loop to exclude unpaid items regardless.

    Thanks again! :)
