Hi all. I have a problem that I can't figure out. I've been diligent about managing my comments and deleting spam, but I just recently discovered a couple spam comments -- that only appear in my comments-rss feed, but not on the actual site. I'm using Google Reader, and when I view the comments feed, I see two comments whose content I cannot see on the blog when I follow the link back to my post, and whose comment id I cannot find in the database. What the heck is going on here?
For reference, here's the blog: http://www.erichutchins.net/
Here's a link to one of the spam comments: http://www.erichutchins.net/2006/04/01/congratulations-are-in-order/#comment-13299
Note that I cannot find comment id 13299 anywhere... this is bizzare. Thanks in advance for any help!
are they comments that you recently deleted? rss feeds are typically cached by third partys like feedburner, etc..

Hmm... I got rid of quite a few, I don't recall which particular ones I nuked.
How often do services like feedburner refresh their cache? I'm a bit annoyed at the fact that I have some spam in my comments rss feed.
Thanks for the info -- if the comments still show in the feed after the cache should have flushed, then I'll have to look into this further.
I don't actually see any spam comments in your actual feed, so I'm betting Google Reader just has your feed cached from when you did have some spam comments in there.
I added your feed to my Google Reader and got no spam showing up there.

Hmm... interesting. Good news, though, I suppose. However, the spam is still displayed in my Google Reader instance -- does anyone know of a way to flush my Google Reader cache? Thanks again for all your help!
