    Hi all,
This is my first question about WP. However I am sure it is not the last :).

    Here is my problem.

I have a couple of blogs that are working fine. Yesterday I set up a new one and than changed my mind about a subdomain that I wanted to install it in.

These are the steps I took to uninstall it:

1.) I removed the subdomain from cpanel
2.) I removed the add on domain from cpanel
3.) I deleted both the subdomain and the addon domain folders from cpanel
4.) I than tried to uninstall WP using fantastico (I know now that I should have made this my first step because it couldn't find the necessary file to automatically uninstall). So I unintalled Wp using the manual instructions by deleting the mysql database and mysql user.

Once finished I tried to reinstall. This is what I did.

1.)Created the add on domain in cpanel
2.)Created the sub domain in cpanel
3.)Tried to use fantastico to reinstall wordpress

This is the error I am getting

    Install WordPress (2/3)

The installation can not be completed:

    - You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors.

I did this twice now and I am sure that both directories (addon domain and subdomain) were deleted from cpanel.

I recreate them and try to install wordpress and get the above error message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    rthorne

Might also have to delete the database that was used.

By database, do you mean the SQL database? If so I already deleted it plus the username.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks In Advance,

You also must delete the files in the root that reference fantastico set up - fantver.php and fantfiles.txt - or something like that.

If I delete those files, will it affect my other blogs that I have installed?

    Thanks,

Back them up 1st (*if you used fantastico on all installs), but it shouldn't affect anything - it's just a way of keeping track. Of course you will need to install future blogs manually (you should anyway) or you will confuse the system again.

This is a fantastico problem. Using cPanel, you should have a folder called .fantasticodata or something like that (in your home directory, most likely). This is a hidden folder, so you'll have to enable viewing hidden files. Within that folder there should be a folder named WordPress. Inside of there look for a file by the name of your domain. Delete that file. Also in the .fantasticodata folder look for a file named something like installed_in_root.php, edit that file and you'll find a line that says something like: $installed_in_root["domain.com"] = 1; Just set the 1 to a 0.
