Uninstall / Reinstall — Same forum shortname

    I’m trying to reinstall disqus into wordpress but no matter how many times i deactivate and delete it from the system, the reinstall still has an old account associated with it. the shortname is associated with an old disqus account and cannot be changed.

    how do you completely remove the plugin and association and start fresh?

    Is there no way to remove the shortname and account association when reinstalling disqus on wordpress?

    I had the same problem. I cannot change the forum shortname and the key apis. Deactivating and activating does not help. I even uninstalled and installed but without any success. I’m using WP 3.5.1 and Disqus 2.74. Please fix this problem!

    @michal, I was able to figure this out. Go to “Plugin Settings” and scroll down to “Reset”.

    Hit the “Reset” button and go through that process. It should remove everything completely. Deactivate and delete the plugin and redownload and install.

    It should then take you through the install process allowing you to choose a new shortname, etc.
