I just installed WorpPress and am getting "An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums"

I am trying to search themes when I get this error.
I have been on the phone for hours with my Host enon central and they can not help me. I deleted all my files and reinstalled WordPress and I still get the error. Now I have no website and a very upset client (which is my husbands real estate firm) Help anyone....over worked and stressed out mom.

    Website is OCREForum.com

    @skyhitblog,
Open your own thread instead of posting your complaints on the posts of other members. Post your own topic with as much details you can provide so that you will get proper guidance.

I have same problem: a fresh install done yesterday, and then ..

"An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums"

when I'm trying to search themes..

i don't want to add any complaint here, but i also feel the same problem, when i'm trying to search plugin or theme directly from my admin page, i also see the same message such as: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums

anyway i temporary guessed if the problem is related to API, it is because my akismet doesn't work (error message: "The key below was previously validated but a connection to akismet.com can not be established at this time. Please check your server configuration.") and also my twitter button (that contain API) in Social Sharing Toolkit's plugin lead me to the tcp_error...

    someone please help us!

No - you have similar symptoms. You may not have the same problem.

But there is no way of telling of the problem are different: the symptoms are all we have and those are exactly the same.

Popping the meta discussion: we have identical symptoms, it there a common cause and solution, I much rather focus on the actual problem because that's the only thing relevant to us.

Fine but with four separate posters now asking questions, this topic has now become too difficult to help anyone effectively. If you want assistance, post your own topic.

It the first posters question is resolved then so is mine. I'm helping to establish that he's not an isolated case, which help in finding the cause of the problem. It's more general that a 1 persons specific configuration.

Can I help by proving information to indenting the problem?

It's site specific! Are you using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster? No? Then post a new topic.

Yes, as posted I use the same new install as the op. why are you assuming it's site specific? You should collect evidence for that assumption instead and focus on finding an cause in an objective way.

You can ask us question to establish our common cause.

I'm going to step aside so that you can focus on solving the op problem instead of focusing on form, since that seems to be the theroad you want to take.

Can you focus on solving the op issue instead please ?
