• Something else seems to have changed with the new administration page. In the past I just added the “Tweet” button, but now I’m being asked to enter account details. I don’t use Twitter and thought the button was for visitors to Tweet.

`We noticed that you picked some buttons which require a bit more information.

Twitter via username Example: Enter ‘sharethis’ for username
Twitter account username Example: Enter ‘sharethis’ for username

    I’m confused.

  • Hello Mike,

Please note that the username is required only when you are using the Twitter Feed button to get the Twitter updates.
It is required for the Twitter Follow button, it seems that you have added a Twitter Follow button on your site.
    Hope this helps and clarifies.
If still you have any queries then please feel free to contact us and please provide your site URL as well.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don’t believe I’ve added a follow button, just a Tweet button, AFAIK.

    Hello Mike,

We have checked your website, you have added a Tweet button to your site.
Please note that the options –

Twitter via username Example: Enter ‘sharethis’ for username
Twitter account username Example: Enter ‘sharethis’ for username

are given to enter your “Twitter Handle” and the “Username” while sharing.
Twitter Handle will show “@via Mike” and in the same way username is required for Sharing to Twitter.

    Hope this helps.
