Undead Category Elimination?

I deleted a Category some time ago, then decided I actually wanted to use it after all.

So, I created the Category again. But there’s a bit of a problem and I don’t know how to fix it.

I’ve chosen to show the Category in my permalinks, and here’s what I see: http://sitename.com/category-2/filename.

There’s now a “-2” being added to the Category name, and I’m guessing it’s because WP thinks the original, deleted Category of the same name still exists. But not being an expert at WP coding, I could be wrong. The point is…

How do I fix this so that this particular Category shows “clean,” without the “-2” added to the end? Having an undead Category is a bummer!
