• I have an odd one for you – I upgraded to 2.5 just before the 2.5.1 announcement (too many 2.5.1 complaints in the forum – waiting for the next release). Since the upgrade, when I refresh the main blog page in IE7 on my XP Pro machine it loads a partial page and then automatically does a 2nd refresh on its own! It looks fine after this auto-refresh, but what’s the deal?

This happens every time I refresh the main page, both by clicking the refresh button and pressing F5. Cleared my browser cache but it still auto-refreshes upon selecting the refresh button or F5. It doesn’t happen when repeatedly clicking the home page link, or my home page browser button (set to my blog). It doesn’t happen on static blog pages, or the individual post pages. Thought it may be content in a post, so I tried the next page, and the next page, and the next… same issue (I show 25 posts per page). Only happens on the main page.

Only happens in IE on XP Pro – have tried foxfire and flock on the same machine – no problem. And it doesn’t happen in the latest IE in my Vista Home Basic laptop, or foxfire, or flock.

So I suppose it’s like that old doctor joke and the answer is “don’t do that” (refresh the main page). I just hate to leave a bug unresolved.
