In my installations of WordPress 2.0.5, I have been receiving comment spam on posts. This is unusual, as I have disallowed comments without user registration/login. How are spammers bypassing this security mechanism?

The spam aspect is best treated with plugins:

Install and activate Akismet -or- Spam Karma 2.
Then install and activate Bad Behavior.

I thought that's what it was, too, so I deactivated trackbacks. But it still happens!
EDIT: Ah, I forgot to change the individual post options--I didn't set each post to disallow pings. We'll see if that works. Thanks for the help!
