I just moved a client's site from a paid hosting to a free one because they prefer it that way.

Anyway, everything seems to be working fine. I moved the database and wordpress files correctly. The wp-config is good. But I am unable to view the homepage.

    Here's the site: http://www.hmarguwahati.com

    Other pages: http://www.hmarguwahati.com/category/articles/

I am able to login to the dashboard, I can view all other pages except the homepage. Any ideas?

Your homepage gets redirected to a 403 message page by the web hosts. The 403 message is usually 'forbidden', so have a look at the path permissions on /public_html , should be 755

Checked. It's 755 and still not working.

Are you sure that all the files have been moved correctly ?

Is there a .htaccess file, and what are the contents ?

What are the permissions of the other paths , like /category and /articles at http://www.hmarguwahati.com/category/articles/

I noticed the link http://www.hmarguwahati.com/category/articles/ take a long time to load.

What do the access logs tell you about any attempts to load http://www.hmarguwahati.com/

Also, are the files in your web root path all 644 ?
