I have installed wordpress via fantastico on my account succesfully :)
The only thing I haven't managed is intalling new themes/templates.

Any that I try to upload returns the following error message:
"Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)."
Asked the tech people of my site support and they said I should delete and re-install but this happend again. They said they dont know how to help :(

Strangely enough all the directories, including wp-content, are on my directory which is built:
    /danlittauer.iblogger.org/htdocs/wp-content/uploads

Somehow when WP is installed something goes wrong with the indication where the files should be?

When you enter the WP panel and click Settings >> Miscellaneous Settings
there is a place to define where the uploads should be put. Currently it is set for (automatically): //wp-content/uploads

    Should I change the path?

Any way to help me? I even tried putting the zipped themes on /danlittauer.iblogger.org/htdocs/wp-content/themes/*.zip

But alas, to no avail. Any ideas how to help ?

    Really would appreciate your help,
    Kind regards,
    Dan

Do you have a wp-content/themes directory?

    Thanks Esmi,
Yes I do indeed :) It has the classic and features subdirectories...

Still for some reason if I try to upload via the control panel of WP I get:
"Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)."
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Dan

Ok - back up a minute. What are you uploading and where within the WP Admin area?

    Thanks again!!

    Well, under: wp-admin/theme-install.php?tab=upload
    Or Apperance/Add New Themes/Upload
I choose a zipped theme (I have tried many), then it proceeds to ask me for the ftp host and passsword, which I fill in correctly,
eventually giving me the error message...

Could you manage to install a theme manually using cPanel's File Manager? (I'm assuming cPanel because you mentioned Fantastico)

    Hello again,
Now I have a different problem... Hmmm... Cant get my head round this one.... Now that I solved the themes problem on http://www.agnosco.iblogger.org, was looking forward to work on my blog, and imported my posts in xml from my tumblr site (danlittauer.tumblr.org) – i have mixed language (english, hebrew, arabic, portuguese) posts and the arabic/hebrew ones came up with question marks… I have been unsuccessful at solving this even after reading docs in wordpress…

The very strange thing is that when I imported it to the wordpress.com account it works (www.danlittauer.tumblr.com), how come?

Are there any files I need to install on my host?

    Please, could you help again?

    Kind regards,

    Thanks so much in advance,
    Dan
