    Please help,

I just installed WordPress today and it said straight away that I needed a newer version. When I click on the auto update link I get this message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 396788 bytes) in /home/orbitalo/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 4215

I tried d/l'ing 3.4.2 and uploading it to my site but when I open the wp-config.php or the wp-admin/update-core.php in my browser - it just looks like code - not instructions.

I cannot find what version I am running. My w/s is orbitalowl.com.au

    I am a noob - please be gentle :)
