Unable to restore database (max_allowed_packet) (3 posts)

    I am switching servers from one company to another. I have downloaded the database. and traferred the files via ftp. But when i try to import the database to new server .. i get error saying max_allowed_packet exceeded error in phpmyadmin. I am a rookie with this stuff. can come someone please help me ... or better yet I would be very thankful if I can hire someone. I have been struggling with this all night.

    You might need to talk with your host.

    I have read that link numerous times and I have even actually tried to open putty and doo all that... But no luck.. YYou have to remember i am a rookie at this stuff. :(

    MY site is down for almost 2 days now.... my business is about to collapse i really need this..

    please someone .
