the other sites might be using a spam blocker to stop people posting links to their sites.

    But,

Its not just one wordpress site thats doing this...All the site(wordpress)that I have tried posting do not accept the comments. The most intriguing part is that I see other comments in there with links...

    Strange

    Hey dhinair,

it could be that your IP address has gotten a bad wrap for some reason, and Akismet is blocking you. Since most WP bloggers use the Akismet plugin, that'd explain everything.

Try posting a comment on my twohourblogger.com site and see what happens.

Can you successfully leave comments that have no links?

    Hey Martyn,

I tried posting on your site and the comment went through, but it doesn't on other WP sites...And answering you next question..No, I am unable to leave comments without links either...

  6. dhinair - They could be using other spam catchers that don't like your email, your URL or your content. If you can post on Martyn's site (and thank you for that offer, Martyn!) then it's not akismet, so you'll have to ask each site :/

    Sorry, but it's a per-site thing.

Lots of blogs require an author's first comment to be moderated. This works off an IP basis. I've found that even switching browsers/computers within a network can require a fresh moderation. If you've been playing around with your modem, that'll do it too.

I have exactly the same problems and for quite a time already.

1-2 comments and I should create a new webmail because previous is blacklisted by Akismet due to dunno what.

It is very easy to determine when the webmail is blackliste - it is when you submit comment and there is no reaction (like seeing your comment "is awaiting moderation") or just blank webpage.

Funny that this happens even if there is no URLs in my comment at all
Also, I noticed that I am 100% blacklisted by Akismet if my comment doesn't contain URLs but I filled website field

I simply do not even try to comment when:
    1)
I smell the presence of Akismet
    2)
    do not see any captcha
(what tells me that there is a police system like Akismet)
    1a,2a)
if the blog is on WordPress.com which use Akismet by default

    Sorry, but it's a per-site thing

    It is not per-site problem.
My compatriots called me retarded when I told them that I was trying to communicate on internet without using spambot

Well, I guess i'll have to ask each site then...Thank you guys for your inputs...

  11. Phrase Vices Poet - You have a different problem.

As EVIDENCED by dhinair begin ABLE to post on Martyn Chamberlin, dhinair is NOT blacklisted by Akismet.

I've done this dance with you before. Pay attention: YOU need to talk to Akismet. Directly. Stop winging here. We can't help you.
