I'v been trying to set up the Performancing Firefox extension to allow me to post to my WordPress blog. This is a blogging client that is popular and supports WordPress. However, when I try to set it up to recognize my site, I get an error message: "incorrect username or password". I know the un and pw I'm using are correct.

I've tried changing to a simpler password (no luck). I've tried it with a longstanding blog that I have, and also with a brand new install. No luck. I'm using latest version of WordPress.

I think others are having the same problem, judging from this thread.

Wondering if anyone has any advice?

    Sorry, no advice.

Just to let you, and the folks at WP, know I've encountered the same problem too.

Found this post through your post at the Performancing forum

I just loaded Performancing and found that the password has to be the same as the name and password you use to log onto wpadmin. Also chech to be sure your site provider does not have some other oass word provisions.

    Good luck.

There's a long thread about this here: http://performancing.com/node/2968
unfortunately, despite many and varied suggestions, the thread doesn't seem to wrap up. I've asked my host if it is an Apache "problem" or some other host generated issue.

I've got the reply from my host, Acenet (brilliant folk, and unbelievably helpful and fast, no exaggeration at all!) and it's all fixed! They said they'd disabled mod_security specific for my account and sure enough I tried again and Scribefire created the account for my WordPress blog with no problem.
