[resolved] Unable to log in to local site admin (5 posts)

I'm working on my new site locally using MAMP. It worked fine for a while, and still shows up OK when I go to localhost, but I'm no longer able to log in to admin. I checked the wp-config.php top make sure the database, user & password were set correctly and checked the database to make sure the user had all permissions and the password was set there. However, when I try to log in, it says the password is incorrect.
I also tried emptying the browser cache.
At this point I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts other than dumping it and starting over?
Thanks for any and all help.

The "caps lock" thing caught me off guard a couple of times. Verify the correct upper/lower case characters of your current password. If that's okay, you might try resetting the password before you start over. That's usually pretty successful. http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

It should be a piece of cake if you're already using phpMyAdmin.

Thanks, ClaytonJames. It's not the caps lock thing, but I'll give it a try through phpMyAdmin when I'm back home.

    Perfect!
Typing the password into the user_pass field and using MD5 in the pulldown menu did the trick. Thank you!

    You're welcome. Glad it worked!
