   I'm having trouble uploading and inserting a video into a post.

   When I upload a mp4 video and click insert, nothing gets inserted into the post.

   I'm using wordpress 2.8.4.

   Try <object embed "http://domainname/wp-content/uploads/videoname.mpeg4" /object>

   Go to Youtube and see how their embed phrases look.They usually include parameters like width and height and borders and autoplay and full screen options.Look for a simple one.Compare to dizzler embed or others.

   But shouldn't wordpress come with it's own player and code?

   I thought by pressing insert after the video is uploaded that it would automatically have it's own code.

   Is this something that is broken in wordpress or am I just not using the correct file type?

   you need to add a player to wp.
