    When I log into my wordpress site it takes me to 'profile' and not 'dashboard'.

    I can get into Dashboard by clicking on the icon but then it only displays 'WordPress Blog', 'The Latest From Yoast', and 'Other WordPress News'

    I cannot edit pages or anything else!!!

    Using Phpmyadmin (or another MySQL management tool), first backup your database. Then navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called "wp_capabilities" for your user_id. Change the meta-value for this record to:

    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}

    I was very hopeful but:-

    I changed it to the following and no better.
    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}

    When I log into my wordpress site it still takes me to 'profile' and not 'dashboard'.

    I can get into Dashboard by clicking on the icon but then it only displays 'WordPress Blog', 'The Latest From Yoast', and 'Other WordPress News'

    I still cannot edit pages or anything else.

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder inside wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress 3.2.1.

    I lost edit functionality of my web site last week and after many hours of trying to fix it I am no further forward.

    It took 48 hours originally to put together my web site from start to finish but perhaps in a day I might get back to something usable again.

    Am I better just starting again and if so how?

    phpMyAdmin keeps crashing

    That sounds serious. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

    I have a web site showerpowerbooster.co.uk which I cannot edit. In desperation I have stated from scratch to build a new wordpress web site which sits annoyingly on showerpowerbooster.co.uk/showerpowerbooster which is no good for me.

    I cannot resolve problems through my host REG123.

    After 10 days giving me the runaround they appear to have dumped the problem back on me and said 'Please note that we do not offer support for installing this third party application outside of our 123-Apps terms. If you wish to install WordPress to the root of your hosting space ("public_html") I can advise you to refer to the instructions offered by the WordPress support website: http://codex.wordpress.org/In'

    Further advise is
    Please note that at the moment the One-Click automatic installation for WordPress and other content management systems
    can only be installed in their own directory. This is why the following address shows:

    http://www.showerpowerbooster.co.uk/showerpowerbooster

    One-Click cannot automatically installs the application into the 'public_html' folder.
    For this to happen you will need to install WordPress manually, the manual installation will allow you to install
    WordPress into 'public_html' folder so that the website will show under the address 'http://www.showerpowerbooster.co.uk/'.

    Please save my sanity and comment upon what I am being advised to do as I have been given incorrect advise from their help desk and would like a opinion on how to resolve this.

    Hi There

    Problem sorted.

    After 10 days of REG123 'Help' and many hours of my own time spent making changes advised to me by REG123.................... I made zero progress.

    I asked an IT guy to look at it and within 5 minutes looking at the database, he spotted a duplicate entry, fixed it, and it all now works
