Support » Plugin: Genesis Simple Sidebars » unable to delete a sidebar in GSS

  • hi–

i need to delete three sidebars i created in GSS early on in the development process of a site.

when i try to do this i get this error:

“Oops! You are trying to delete a sidebar that does not exist, or cannot be deleted”

i havent had this issue before with GSS and have no idea how to address it. anyone have any advice?

    many thanks,
    emily

i should add, that the id of the sidebar is looking mighty funky. i used a dash that turned into some garble:

    fg–public-projects-sidebar
    became:
    fg%e2%80%93public-projects-sidebar

i am also unable to edit the sidebar, when i try, i get this:
Nice try, partner. But that sidebar doesn’t exist. Click back and try again.

You’ll have to delete the ss-settings option from your options table. When you recreate your sidebars don’t copy & paste the names.

Browsers sometimes convert characters to encoded characters when pasting.

thanks so much for the follow up though i need just one more nudge to know what you’re referring to (relative noob here)… where is the options table?

    where is the options table?

In your database. If you search your DB for ss-settings in your DB control panel you should find the record.
