I get this message when I try to upload an image from any user other than the network admin. I’m using subdirectories for my MU:

Unable to create directory /home/content/38/7829438/html/wp-content/blogs.dir/6/files/2011/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I made sure the permissions are set to write for blog.dir and the all the folders in and around blog.dir. I opened blog.dir and there is nothing in the file. I went back and recopied the code into the .htaccess file as I suspected the problem might be there. Still the same error message.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    blogs.dir isn’t a file, it’s a FOLDER. Did you make it a folder or a file?

no, because I can’t figure out how to make one with GoDaddy’s interface! So I thought I had to make a file as that was the only thing that says “new”. Ok, I’ll make a folder and ftp to the location. Thanks, duh.
