Personal Fundraiser
[resolved] Unable to Create Campaign (25 posts)

When a user tries to create a campaign and hits OK a quick pop up box next to the campaign URL reads: Please wait while we validate this location.
However, nothing else happens and the user is unable to create the campaign.

    I'm seeing the same issue.

Did you ever get a resolution on this?

I have not received a reply on this yet. However, I have continue the testing, and I have found that the URL for your campaign has to be the same as the login user. Once I entered my full name first and last, the campaign was created successfully.

@ruimacdonald I am still trying to solve this too. It has many glitches. I have not received a respond from the author of the plugin.

@mhauser This is really a big problem. I love the Plugin but no support at all. I'm thinking to contract a WordPress developer in order to solve this problem.

If I found the solution I will be back to you.

@ruimacdonald Yes, it is. It looks like the plugin has a lot of potential, and it is exactly what I need, but it is full of glitches. Apparently, they have stopped supporting it. Let me know if you find anything.

    @mhauser

    Try this:

    1. On /wp-content/plugins/personal-fundraiser/js/ edit the file user.js
    2. Make a Backup of it before
    3. Find this part of code: d.url.indexOf("validate-slug")>-1&&
    4. Delete it and save the file and try it.

You can have problems with wysiza Newsletter Plugin if you use it.

    Let me your feed back.

    Chhers

    A couple of questions here:

    1. What version of WordPress are you using?
    2. What theme are you using?
    3. Does you site use a language other than English? If it is English, can you load the following file on your site?
      /wp-content/plugins/personal-fundraiser/js/jquery.validationEngine-en_US.js?ver=1.7

If you are using a language other than English, then you need to copy this file to a filename that corresponds to the language you are using. For example, if you were using German as your WordPress language, you could copy this file to jquery.validationEngine-de_DE.js.

Taking out the validation of the URL isn't recommended because if someone has already created a campaign with the same url entered, the new campaign will actually end up with a different URL.

It appears that there is an issue with the Personal Fundraiser plugin in WordPress 3.7 (and possibly 3.6). I am looking into it and will hopefully release a fix soon.

John, the first obstacle I encountered is not being able to add new fields on the settings page. Such as the fundraiser's photo. Any suggestions as to what could be going wrong?

What exactly is happening when you try to add new fields?

Wow! Thank you for the quick response. I am most appreciative. When I click on Add New Field, it takes me to the top of the page.

    Hi John,

I am having the same problem described above, but i have the latest version of WP (3.8) and also your personal fundraiser plugin. Is there a new conflict with 3.8?

    Thanks,

    Yukon

The new version (0.8.1) has already been released. I just tested it with 3.8 and it appears to work properly. Can you provide any details on the error you are seeing? Also, its possible the theme you are using conflicts with this plugin, particularly if your theme overrides jquery.
