[resolved] unable to change e-mail address (9 posts)

    Hello,
    Each time I send a 'test e-mail' it goes to the wrong address. It goes to the address I used when setting up my hosting plan. I have searched my site several times but am unable to find where this address is being derived from. I have also changed my address with my host (blue host) and contacted them to see if they are able to help. All is good at their end.
    'Events/setting/e-mails/e-mail settings/Notification sender address' has the correct address. 'Booking e-mail Templates' and 'Event Submission Templates' are also correct. I have checked 'buddypress' and 'S2Members' and they appear to be correct also.
    I am at a loss as to how I can change the destination of the 'test e-mail'. Please help as I am fairly new to WP and enjoy this plugin.

    you can change it at Events > Settings > Emails > Email Settings > Notification sender name & Notification sender address

    Hi agelonwl,
    As mentioned above, I have tried this several times already (and again just now) and still the test e-mail is going to the wrong address. I have made sure that I have saved both in this area and at the bottom of the page (events/settings/e-mails)also. This appears to work as the correct address remains, however the test e-mail still goes to the wrong address. I am willing to give you access as an admin user should you feel you need it for checking/debugging purposes. If so, please send me an e-mail requesting this.

    I tested this again and I get this too, I've let Marcus know about it. should get fixed soon.

    Thank you x10. Not for finding the problem, but more so for taking the time to help me. I had already fried my brain thinking I was doing something wrong.
    I'm guessing I will need to un-instal/re-install the plugin once the problem is solved. If this is correct, would you please let me know when it is ready.

    Hi,
    I just found where it is getting the address from. It's using the address listed in the admins user account. (i.e. I have changed the address in users/your profile/e-mail) Test e-mails now go to the admins e-mail address. This is OK for now, but may still cause problems when a second admin is added to the site. Hope this helps.

    actually this isn't a bug, it's intended behaviour. I just added an extra line there explaining this to avoid confusion.

    if another admin clicks 'test email' then it'll be sent to the currently logged-in user.

    It all makes sense now. The plugin is working fine for me. As you mentioned, I was confused. Thanks for tidying things up, I hope this helps others and causes you less questions like mine in the future.
