Is there a plug-in, a hack or something that would allow me to
un-check 'Allow Comments' check box
by default
on pages only,
not blog posts?
(I want that option check by default for blog posts.)
So, when user create pages, they do not need to remember to go and un-check that box.
But! I want to retain the option of turning comments back on for a particular page.
I brought this up yesterday in the
How-To and Troubleshooting forum
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/298857?replies=8
and the answer there was to cut out the code creating the comments option on pages...which I may have to go with. But, I would prefer just un-checking the box for many reasons
RATIONALE
I am putting together a WordPress CMS for a small school of herbalism which will make very heavy use of 'pages' (perhaps hundreds in coming months) by non-technical people(10-15) to build and develop the web site. I am working to encourage many non-technical to be involved and I need to make the experience as simple and user friendly as possible by narrowing/eliminating options erroneous to their needs.
THANKS!
