ul and li menu items not being closed in ie

    Hello, I am having serious issues with some css code and wordpress list items and menu items that you create from the menu editor. Well, I was just looking through code output to the browser and I noticed that the li and ul tags are not closed off in ie but are in other browsers. Any known work around for this problem? It is screwing up my css big time in ie7 and ie8. Thanks.
