[resolved] Uh Oh, my Hosting company doesn't like my website! (6 posts)

    My hosting company has sent me a letter stating the following:

    It has come to our attention that your hosting account is causing an overload of the shared resources on this server. This, in turn, affects the server performance for other customers. We have migrated your site to a new server to provide you time to resolve the issue.

    Unfortunately, we are not able to troubleshoot custom scripting and therefore, we are not able to provide specific solutions. However, the following files have been accessed the most and should be a starting point for further troubleshooting. Keep in mind, these files may not be the root cause of this issue.

    The "files" they list are my homepage, my feed, and my coppermine photo gallery.

    they say it's not a matter of "bandwith" ...

    Any of you know what the heck i can do, or is there anything i can do? I am running wordpress with a small number of plugins. When i called GoDaddy to ask them what i can do to resolve this issue they said there is nothing they can tell me other than "fix it."

    Anyone know how to fix this issue or is it something that cannot be fixed? id take the site down before i spend the extra 40 a month for a virtual server! could there be something wrong with my site or is it just too many people visiting my site causing this.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just don't understand what they are trying to get me to do.

    #1 change your hosting company. GoDaddy is not a good host for WordPress.

    #2 one of my clients got an email from HostGator last week (a good host for WordPress) saying essentially the same problem you reported - excessive CPU utilization. Without even asking, they notified her they had installed and configured the WP SuperCache plugin "in lieu of suspending the account". That appears to have resolved the issue.

    If you are not prepared to follow suggestion #1, try installing the Supercache plugin.

    Thank you for your suggestions :) i would LOVE to move from GoDaddy as i have not had the greatest luck with them... but i run several sites thru them and to move everything over to another company would be too time consuming. I wish i had known BEFORE the problems i would have :)

    any suggestions as to hosting companies??

    HostGator has been excellent for me, for a long time.
