We’re trying to build the 2018 UI.
It’s actually easier than ever to recolor the admin in MP6, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a plugin available to do so soon.
With the old bitmap approach it was exceedingly difficult to support even one additional color, blue, and that’s why we only ever did one instead of a few like originally planned.
The mindset is right Matt. The flat, responsive design is a really good approach.
But the current colour scheme and the small design aspects such as corners, spacing, shading and fonts really let MP6 down.
To add to the discussion: I know that are already some other color schemes in development or will even be added to MP6 if I did understand right, that will be awesome, believe me! 🙂
Also, I guess very soon after official release in WordPress core there will be add-on plugins for MP6 admin, being that color schemes or anything in this area, like design tweaks (corners, whatever…).
So, in the long we will have more diversity and each user can make the admin area her or his own! Really looking forward to it and MP6 approach making that possible finally.
A few more weeks or months I guess and we all will be really happy! 🙂
