[resolved] Typing ".htaccess" in post causing errors (3 posts)

A really odd error here. Last night I wrote a post about .htaccess, but was getting errors when I tried to save the post.

Through trial and error I worked out that the problem was caused by the term ".htaccess" in the post. In order to save and publish the post I had to remove the preceding dot from the term, so I just wrote "htaccess".

The error I was experiencing was that each time I clicked Save I would be thrown to my 404 page and the post was not saved!

Has this been experinced before, is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    thats mod_security.

yes there are work arounds, either by disabling it in your admin area only, or site-wide.

    Many thanks whooami :)

I disabled mod_security in wp_admin using .htaccess and all works well.

    Much appreciated.
