   I have two WordPress sites running on one account. I have one site set so that it can be accessed without including the subdirectory in the URL. I'd like to do the same with the seoond site as well, but I already have one .htaccess file in the root directory. Is there any way to set the second site so that the URL doesn't have to include /subdirectory?

   Nope.

   You will need register another domain name and then add as a addon domain name if your host allows one.
