Two (or more) independant wordpress websites through the same hosting account (2 posts)

    Hey guys,

I have been running a wordpress-powered website (ie: http://www.12.com hosted by 1and1.com) for a some time now.
I bought a new domain this week(ie: http://www.123.com) to run a completely different project and it is running through the same 1and1 account.

The wordpress installtion files of 12.com are placed on the root folder of my ftp account; those for 123.com are in Root_Folder/123. The respective installations are running "fine" ( I can log-in, install themes etc).

Now, the problem I am having is this one: when I open 123.com, it automatically displays http://www.12.com/123. When I change the Blog address (URL) under the settings tab to http://www.123.com, it opens http://www.12.com.

I am trying to simply run two websites: 12.com AND 123.com through the same 1and1 account.

Can somebody please help me with this.

    Thank you in advance! :)

You would need to get 1and1 to map 123.com to 12.com/123 - I don't have any hosting with them so I don't know if you can do this yourself, if you would need to have them do it, or if you're even able to do it (some hosts, e.g. Web Fusion, charge you extra to do this because they'd rather you bought some more hosting for the new site!). But you'd probably be better off asking 1and1 support for assitance.
