For some reason I have two arrows together, e.g.

I cannot see why I have two. Any ideas?

    It's something that's hard-coded into your theme.

Really? Any idea where in the theme or what the code would look like?

Might be able to help if I had a link to your site, or at the very least, knew what theme you are using.

I can't say for certain, but I think it might actually be a product of the Superfish breadcrumb menu javascript located in /themes/magazine-basic/js/effects.js

    That's just a guess.

Thanks. Looks a bit complicated there. Wondering if I use that bit of the file. ..... maybe I could just delete the lot and see what happens ....

Just deleted everything under // SUPERFISH and then deleted the Cache, and no change.

No idea what any of that file does .... I will delete the whole lot and see what gives .... (this is how I do web design, please turn off your set if you are concerned by anything you see!)

Nope, deleted everything in effects.js and no change.

Will put it back just in case it is doing something I cannot see!

I just did a quick install of magazine basic, and I don't see the breadcrumbs bar at all in that theme - didn't see it in the demo either. I must be missing something.

Oh, I am really sorry. I seem to have caused confusion!

When I posted this I thought that it was attached to the Yoast Breadcrumbs plugin. That is what I am using.

Really sorry again, feel like I wasted your time!

No waste at all!!! Now I'm wondering why the heck I didn't pick up on that right from the start? I'm going to take a wild stab here, but...

In the setup page for the breadcrumbs, the arrows are being generated by
&raguo; (which is the html equivalent of double arrows) in the "Separator between breadcrumbs" field.

First item on the setup page.

    :-)

Yes, but on my site I get 2 of those, I have checked others and they all have just one.

I use that plugin on a site with the thematic theme, and I too only see one set of arrows. I'm sorry I misinterpreted the issue. It's the DOUBLE double arrows that are the concern. Now I really am stumped. It's almost like there is an empty field between the arrows. I'm sorry I couldn't contribute anything useful.

Are you using posts in a CMS-type way? I am, and my site has the same problem, because I have nothing in the "Anchor text for blog" area. I think it's still inserting a placeholder for that blog anchor text, and adding the extra separator as if something were there. Which it isn't!
