• I installed a version of wordpress at thegenvine.com/blog, because I installed another CMS in the main folder. I decided to remove the other CMS and use WordPress in the main folder, but I kept the WP install in the /blog folder.

I just realized this morning that my links don’t work into the posts. Somehow I think that the installs are conflicting with each other, because when I go into the Settings > Permalinks, they all start with “thegenvine.com/blog” except for the Default option.

This is a new install that I have been working on and can start over if I need to but was hoping to not have to – does anyone know how I can fix it so that the permalinks do not include the “blog” folder, and are just based off the domain name?

    Thanks,
    Janell

Since WordPress is installed in the /blog sub-folder this would seem to be correct. Perhaps you need to review Giving WordPress Its Own Directory if you want WordPress to take over the root domain.

WordPress is installed in both folders – the /blog subfolder, and then a Multi-site instance is installed in the root domain. It was installed first in the /blog folder, as a standard installation, and then later in the root domain as the multi-site.
