• Hi,
I have searched and cant find a response, so please accept my apologies if this is an old topic.
I recently installed WP and the install was a piece of cake. I configured the install for the public domain of my site and it works great. Problem is, the internal network (inside my firewall) has a different domain name to the public domain (x.org vs x.local).
There are valid reasons for doing this but the issue is, I cant use WP from inside the firewall, where the address of the host is its internal name (e.g. – web.x.local) and the site is configured for the public domain (e.g. – http://www.x.org). None of the CSS seems to work and navigating the site is impossible due to the absolute references used in the navigation.
I also have another domain that I want to point at this site but until it works for the internal/external domains, I am stuck.
I am using that latest code (as of 20/07/2005) and am running it on Apache 2/SuSe Linux Enterprise Server, MySQL)
Any comments or help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • The domain URL where WP is installed is stored inside the database.
Are you trying to get WP to function as a blog with one install but using two domains ? If so, you can’t – it will break.

I’m not entirely sure what it is exactly you are trying to do.
