Two Blogs on one site? (6 posts)

I was wondering if you can have one WP installation for one site, but have two or more Blogs running?

So rather than having x-amount of pages, is there a possibility to add another blog instead? Hence I would have a Blog on the front page, and another blog in a different part of the site (say one relating to cats and one to dogs).

    Any suggestions?

You can have as many as you want. When you upload the source code I would recommend leaving WordPress in a subdirectory of your site and renane it to something else...say cats. Then upload it again and rename that one to dogs. When you go through the install process you can even use the same database for both...just change the table prefix to something unique.

Also, have a look at Installing_Multiple_Blogs in the docs section.

Yes, but wouldn't that mean two different SITES essentially?

I'm talking about having ONE site, ONE installation, and where say on the front page I'd have one blog, on another page I'd like another blog. Instead of a static page (of which I can add as many as I'd like), I was wondering if I can add another blog instead of a page.

Another blog IS another site...I'm not understanding what you are trying to do.

No, one WordPress cannot live in two different locations. I'd recommend using categories (dogs and cats) instead.
