Two Basic EASY "How To" Questions (2 posts)

I'm new to all of this so I have a couple of really basic newbie questions.

First, I want to make the default so that the are no Pings or Comments. Right now I am unchecking the options in each post. Is there a way to set it up so I don't have to do that? In other words they are checked by default and I want them unchecked by default.

I want to turn off comments.

I also want to turn off Pings.

Second, the template I am using does not show tags that have already been used. You know how for categories you can just check what you want to use and you can add any that are not already on the list? Is there a way to set "Tags" up to be the same way?

I know that there are a gazillion themes out there but these two things I am asking about are done this way in Kubrick so I think if you answer for Kubrick it will apply.

    Thank you all.

    1. If you are that new... study your own admin panel and all the subpanels in it. (hint: settings > discussion)

    2. The theme that you use and what you see in the backend (admin) have nothing to do with each other!
The tags section in the admin is primitive - it doesn't have the feature you were hoping for. Try to find a plugin that adds more options how to manage your tags. See the Extend > Plugins section on this page.
