Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a theme that would allow just two columns on the main page. They would be side-by-side and allow for two separate users to post in each one. I would want everything to be in one database.
It would almost be like a dueling opinion-type site, but rather, the tow will be blogging about almost anything.
Is this possible?

Sure. You'll need to customize your index.php file to create the two columns. From there, you can use query_posts (with author parameters) to creating the "dueling" columns:
