You’ll need to use a Twitter Plugin that supports the Twitter OAuth mechanism. I’d check out Twitter Tools 2.4 which has added this support. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twitter-tools/ There might be others but I was already using this one.
The old way of using your Twitter username and password with these stopped working August 31st according to an email I got from Twitter (this is for any Twitter app or script that used the Twitter API).
