    goto dashboard – appearance – background and set the background color to anything but white, for example to dark grey #999999.

    a white custom background color triggers a few unexpected changes to the site’s body_class and to the styles.

    Cheers alchymyth that fixed it. I knew it had happened just after I had done something to the background, but couldn’t figure out what. Thanks again,
