I am using twentyten theme to create a static web page.

I have created a page "Home" to use as a static front page. In the page options I have chosen "template: one column, no side bar" It makes the front page look great.
I have also created page "News" for blog posts. In the page options I have also chosen "template: one column, no side bar".

All the blogs show up nicely in the "news" page, but the page is not "one column, no side bar" on the side I see "Archives" and "Meta".
I have even de-activated all widgets, but I still see "Archives" and "Meta"

News is the only page with that issue, I have created additional static pages, and all work fine, except for News.

And I have the same issue with other domains on the multisite installation.

  2. Because category pages and archive pages are not static Pages. they are blog archives.

Any way to hide "Archives" and "Meta"?
Friend I am building a page for does not like that, she wants all pages to look the same.

  4. You should be able to edit your themes so the category pages look just like the rest.

  5. go find the sidebar.php file. edit away.

  6. Though in checking my Dad's site... Whatever widgets you put on the site are there for all pages. If you need to hide things on sub pages, try using Widget Logic to do that.
