   Just saw that someone has the twentyeleven theme with kind of dropdown submenu i.e. when moving the mouse over the menu items, submenus open up.
   Is this function already in the twentyeleven theme (cant find it) or is a third party dropdown menu plugin required?

   It's built in.

   Go to Appearance -> Menus and set up a custom menu with the hierarchy you prefer--drag and drop menu items underneath each other to set the hierarchy. Any indented menu items will appear under a sliding menu.

   Save your menu, then set the Primary Menu drop-down to your new menu and Save.

   Thanks sixhours, this was it, I didn't activate the Menu Name at Primary Menu and those eight pages did not show up as submenu although I pushed them in the position of submenu. Now this is solved, thanks a lot!

   Just to clarify, drag sub menu items to the right to indent them.
