[TwentyEleven] Adding Sidebar To Single Post Page

I want to add a sidebar to the single post page. I’ve tried something in the functions.php but when I add that functions.php file to my twentyeleven-child theme the website gives me an error.

What do I have to do to add the sidebar to the single post? 🙂
