[resolved] [Twenty Twelve] Remove "edit_comment_link" (6 posts)

I'm trying to do a simple thing in a child theme of Twenty Twelve. I want to remove the edit_comment_link in the functions.php file (because that is where it is for this theme) but do it in my child theme.

I could very easily leave the text output empty on line 266 of the functions.php in the parent theme, but that would mean that it gets overwritten if I update the theme.

    How do I do this?

WOW! If I would have read a few lines above in the functions.php file, I would have seen how to do this!

Add a custom version of the twentytwelve_comment() function in your child theme's functions.php file.

Ok, I did that. But I think that I don't know what to include in the function. When I include all of the code in the function and make my edits, it looks great on the front end. But, when I try and edit a post I get an error, 'cannot write to headers'.

Sounds like you introduced an error into the file. Try reviewing Solving "headers already sent" warnings.

Thank You. I had almost given up. It looks like whitespace and adding another ?> tag was causing the problem.
