twenty twelve IE 8 not supported (5 posts)

I read that IE8 is not well supported for the twenty twelve theme because of its abilities to handle the CSS. That's not too much a problem for me, but I'd still like all my content to be shown if IE8 visits my site.

I changed the text color in the footer of the theme to be white and the respective background to be black. When I visit the site with IE8 the background is shown as white, but the text remains white as well. Hence it can't be read.

    How can I fix this?
A skeleton of the site is here:

With a *lot* of searching, I found a variety of things to help IE8 display Twenty Twelve a bit better, but I ultimately had a Developer take care of things with a custom ie.css style sheet.

@aschmalen: It is impolite to interrupt another poster's ongoing thread with a question of your own. It causes significant problems for the forum's volunteers and prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Please post your own topic.
