It’s interesting that there are existing posts on this, but they seem to skip past what to me is the most mysterious part. Which of the various nav entries in the css do you transpose to your child css and add the font reference?

    My site is here.

I want to use the Oswald font from Google on the Menu bar, and also sort of would like the color to shift to orange when the category is hovered over. I’d also like about a 15 pixel buffer on both ends of the menu to keep the categories from running right up into the edge there.

I assume the same spot in the css will let me adjust font size if it gets too cramped?

And do I need to add the fonts themselves anywhere for a reference?

    No love?

I have worked around this using the Easy Google Fonts plugin, but that plugin still requires some understanding of the CSS. I -hope- I have it right, but would still appreciate some input. I basically need a fonts primer for WordPress in general and Twenty Twelve specifically.

I’m still working on this menu bar. I have moved on to a different issue, but what I am looking for at this point is someone to answer the question I had above and also just in general to ask if there was a specific css guide for Twenty Twelve.

It’s odd to me to be able to see through Chrome that certain values are being inherited and see that Chrome. cannot tell me from where.
