    Hello All! I am trying to change the header color on my childtheme and in css have changed things with

    .menu-top-menu-container {
    background-color: #b3cbf7;
    }

    .header {
    background-color: #b3cbf7;
    }

    However, I am still left with blocks of white. How can I get my entire header to have a background color?

    Is this because the twenty twelve header extends only to 960px? How can I change this?

    ah...i figured out why it is happening but haven't figured out how to solve it. the header is resting inside the body. site area...

    in the css code under @media screen and (min-width: 960px)
    the body .site contains the header so when there is padding on the body .site it creates padding around the header area

    is there any way for the header to bypass the .site padding constrictions?

    or is there any way to get the site content to run below the header area
