Twenty Ten theme has no Custom Field function??

    Basic installation of Twenty Ten theme. I was trying to install a plugin that requires input in the custom fields when I noticed to my dismay that I have no custom fields! The New Post/Edit Post page has nothing below the main content entry area. I have used the twentyten theme many times previously and there have always been many more options including Custom Fields below the main text area but this installation looks like it is missing these options.

    I am sure there is a reasonable explanation for this, I just cant find it. Help?

    Ok, I just figured it out… this is quite annoying. I disabled Jetpack in the plugins admin and viola, the Screen Options that were hidden previously suddenly appeared! Custom Fields is an option along with several others that are unchecked by default in Screen Options. I check the box and I got Custom Fields.

    I’m sure Jetpack is lovely for some people but it just wasted a bunch of my time, just give me the damn functions!
