Twenty Ten - How to add borders? (4 posts)

I just started building my website, and one of the first things I noticed is that it looks very bland without having borders around the main body, or any of the items in the column on the right.

    Here's what I have so far: http://www.toddcooperider.com

    Here's what I'd like to achieve: http://www.adam-mcfarland.net

I looked through some other forum posts here, and there were references to specific script to be added, but it didn't mention exactly where it should be placed within the editor.

I've been working with WordPress for a year now, but only on the writing side. This is my first time with a setup. Given that, I'd appreciate it if you'd walk it through in detail and assume that it is all foreign to me. I'm not completely naive, but darn close!

    Thanks,
    Todd

Don't edit the Twenty Ten theme! Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.

    I'll do that.

Once that's done however, I'm still in the same boat with borders though, right?

I've updated it by creating a child theme, but I still need some help on how to add borders. Anyone?
