Twenty Ten: Hide Pingbacks and Trackbacks (7 posts)

    Pingbacks/trackbacks are useful for seeing who's linking to my articles. I like seeing them, but they're ridiculously vulnerable to spam.

    How can i hide them from the comments area of posts and from the "Recent Comments" widget?

    I like how iNove separates comments from pingbacks/trackbacks under posts. If it's possible to implement that in Twenty Ten, that would be awesome.

    But pingbacks/trackbacks still show up under Recent Comments in Twenty Ten and iNove, which makes the whole widget useless to me.

    Please help. Thanks in advance.

    Screw it. I give up on Recent Comments until WordPress implements the option to moderate trackbacks/pingbacks separately from regular commments.

    It's frustrating how much of WordPress is crippled due to trackbacks and pingbacks being treated as comments.

    don't use plugins for simple things. find your:<?php wp_list_comments(); ?> and change it to: <?php wp_list_comments('type=comment'); ?> that will filter out the pings and trackbacks (which you can add separately if you wish using type="pings")

    @inksaint

    They're talking about the Recent Comments widget not post comments.

    How can i filter the "Recent Comments widget" result to add 'type=comment' to the widget?
