    Hi!

I know this topic has been covered before, but I couldn’t find a definitive solution (either through the forums or Google) which worked for me.

Test site: http://www.kevinhays.com/mt. This is just a dummy site, but I’d like to create the page template for future projects.

Similar to the Showcase template of Twenty Eleven, I’d like to create a front page template for Twenty Ten which enables static content at the top, with a blog roll at the bottom. I have extremely limited php knowledge aside from being able to cut and paste/edit content in a footer/change what headings are called (e.g. ‘Featured Posts’ to ‘Featured Roasts’ or whatever).

I tried to follow the instructions on http://codex.wordpress.org/Page_Templates#A_Page_of_Posts, but seeing as that’s written for Twenty Thirteen, and because of my non-existent php skills, I didn’t know how to make it work for Twenty Ten.

So, could someone please help me with a page template that will allow the content of the ‘Front Page’ at the top, followed by the blog roll (or latest posts limited to 5) of http://www.kevinhays.com/mt/blog/?

This was helpful (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/adding-blog-to-static-page, although the output of the blog doesn’t replicate the output of the ‘regular’ Twenty Ten blog (i.e dates/other meta(?) information).

    Many thanks!

    D
