• Where can I toggle which pages appear on the standard menu? I’ve searched high and low and can’t find it.

    Thanks

  • 1) Go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus
    2) Create and save a Custom Menu
    3) Apply your Custom Menu to the appropriate Theme Location

    Thanks, Chip.

    Now I have another question. How do I make the “HOME” page a static page? Do I have to create a new one?

    How do I make the “HOME” page a static page? Do I have to create a new one?

    You need to change your settings, to display a Static Page on the Front Page:

    1) Create a new Static Page, e.g. “Front Page”
    2) If you also want to show your Blog Posts somewhere, create a second new Static Page, e.g. “Blog”
    3) Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading and change “Front Page Displays” to “Static Page”
    4) Beneath this setting, Change the “Front Page” dropdown to the Page you created in Step 1, e.g. “Front Page”
    5) Beneath this setting, change the “Blog Posts Index” dropdown to the Page you created in Step 2, e.g. “Blog”

    Problems with Menu.

    I set up a menu on my wordpress blog. I added some pages as top level items to it. I tried to rearrange them and they wouldn’t do so. So I deleted the items. They would not go away. I deleted the menu. It, too, will not go away.

    When I say “won’t go away”, they still show up on the website.

    What do I do to get ride of this and start over?

    website is rfkdems.org

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    @chip,

    what do you mean with 3) Apply your Custom Menu to the appropriate Theme Location

    How do I do that?
